खलन्ह हृदयँ अति ताप बिसेषी। जरहिं सदा पर संपति देखी॥ जहँ कहुँ निंदा सुनहिं पराई। हरषहिं मनहुँ परी निधि पाई॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
khalanha hṛdayaṃ ati tāpa biśeṣī। jarahiṃ sadā para saṃpati dekhī॥ jahaṃ kahuṃ niṃdā sunahiṃ parāī। haraṣahiṃ manahuṃ parī nidhi pāī॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
In the hearts of the wicked there is a special burning of anguish. They always burn when they see others prosper. Wherever they hear someone else being censured, they rejoice as if they had found a treasure lying on the road.
