गिरिजा कहेउँ सो सब इतिहासा। मैं जेहि समय गयउँ खग पासा॥ अब सो कथा सुनहु जेहि हेतू। गयउ काग पहिं खग कुल केतू॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
girijā kaheuṃ so saba itihāsā। maiṃ jehi samaya gayauṃ khaga pāsā॥ aba so kathā sunahu jehi hetū। gayau kāga pahiṃ khaga kula ketū॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
O Girija, I have told you that whole account from the time when I went to the bird-sage. Now hear the story of why Garuda, the banner of the bird race, went to that crow.
