तब रघुपति अनुसासन पाई। मातलि चलेउ चरन सिरु नाई॥ आए देव सदा स्वारथी। बचन कहहिं जनु परमारथी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
taba raghupati anusāsana pāī। mātali caleu carana siru nāī॥ āe deva sadā svārathī। bacana kahahiṃ janu paramārathī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Then, having received Raghupati's command, Matali, Indra's charioteer, bowed his head to the Lord's feet and departed. After that, the gods, ever self-interested, came speaking words as though they were great men of righteousness.
