फूलइ फरइ न बेत जदपि सुधा बरषहिं जलद। मूरुख हृदयँ न चेत जौं गुर मिलहिं बिरंचि सम॥ १६ (ख) ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
phūlai pharai na beta jadapi sudhā baraṣahiṃ jalada। mūrakha hṛdayaṃ na ceta jauṃ guru milahiṃ birañci sama॥ 16 (b) ॥
Meaning
Although clouds pour down nectar-like rain, the bamboo does not blossom or bear fruit. Likewise, even if one meets a teacher like Brahma, the fool's heart does not awaken to understanding.
