कुंभकरन रन रंग बिरुद्धा। सन्मुख चला काल जनु क्रुद्धा॥ कोटि कोटि कपि धरि धरि खाई। जनु टीड़ी गिरि गुहाँ समाई॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
kuṃbhakarana rana raṅga biruddhā। sanmukha calā kāla janu kruddhā॥ koṭi koṭi kapi dhari dhari khāī। janu ṭīḍī giri guhāṃ samāī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
In the fervor of battle, Kumbhakarna advanced against them as if Death itself, angry, was coming face to face. He began seizing and devouring countless monkeys by the millions. [They were rushing into his mouth] as if locusts were swarming into a mountain cave.
