चलत होहिं अति असुभ भयंकर। बैठहिं गीध उड़ाइ सिरन्ह पर॥ भयउ कालबस काहु न माना। कहेसि बजावहु जुद्ध निसाना॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

calata hohiṃ ati asubha bhayaṃkara। baiṭhahiṃ gīdha uḍāi siranha para॥ bhayau kālabasa kāhu na mānā। kahesi bajāvahu juddha nisānā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

As he marched, many inauspicious and terrifying omens appeared. Vultures flew about and perched on his heads. But being under the sway of Death, he paid no heed to any omen. He said, 'Sound the war trumpet.'
