राम बालि निज धाम पठावा। नगर लोग सब ब्याकुल धावा॥ नाना बिधि बिलाप कर तारा। छूटे केस न देह सँभारा॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

rāma bāli nija dhāma paṭhāvā। nagara loga saba byākula dhāvā॥ nānā bidhi bilāpa kara tārā। chūṭe kesa na deha saṃbhārā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Rama sent Bali to His own abode. All the people of the city rushed in distress. Bali's wife Tara began to lament in many ways; her hair was undone, and she had no control over her body.
