थर थर काँपहिं पुर नर नारी। छोट कुमार खोट बड़ भारी॥ भृगुपति सुनि सुनि निरभय बानी। रिस तन जरइ होइ बल हानी॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
thara thara kāṃpahiṃ pura nara nārī। choṭa kumāra khoṭa baḍa bhārī॥ bhṛgupati suni suni nirabhaya bānī। risa tana jarai hoi bala hānī॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
The men and women of Janakpur are trembling. [They are thinking:] the young prince is extremely audacious. Hearing Lakshmana's fearless words again and again, Parashurama's body burns with anger and his strength is waning.
