पुरी बिराजति राजति रजनी। रानीं कहहिं बिलोकहु सजनी॥ सुंदर बधुन्ह सासु लै सोईं। फनिकन्ह जनु सिरमनि उर गोईं॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
purī birājati rājati rajanī। rānīṃ kahahiṃ bilokahu sajanī॥ sundara badhunhaṃ sāsu lai soīṃ। phanikanhaṃ janu siramani ura goīṃ॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
The queens said, ‘O friend, behold how splendid the night is, by which the city of Ayodhya shines even more brightly!’ And the mothers-in-law, taking the lovely brides along, went to sleep, as though snakes had hidden the jewels on their heads within their hearts.
Context
This is Chaupai 2, Under Doha 358 from Bal Kand, in the episode “Procession Returns to Ayodhya”. The episode describes the joyful return of the wedding procession with new brides to a rejoicing Ayodhya.
