नीदउँ बदन सोह सुठि लोना। मनहुँ साँझ सरसीरुह सोना॥ घर घर करहिं जागरन नारीं। देहिं परसपर मंगल गारीं॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

nīdauṃ badana soha suṭhi lonā। manahuṃ sāṃjha sarasīruha sonā॥ ghara ghara karahiṃ jāgarana nārīṃ। dehiṃ parasapara maṅgala gārīṃ॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Even in sleep, their charming face shone so beautifully, as though a red lotus of evening were glowing. Women were keeping vigil in every house, and exchanging festive playful blessings with one another.
