कतहुँ मुनिन्ह उपदेसहिं ग्याना। कतहुँ राम गुन करहिं बखाना॥ जदपि अकाम तदपि भगवाना। भगत बिरह दुख दुखित सुजाना॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

katahuṃ muninha upadesahiṃ gyānā। katahuṃ rāma guna karahiṃ bakhānā॥ jadapi akāma tadapi bhagavānā। bhagata biraha dukha dukhita sujānā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

At some places he taught knowledge to sages, and at others he praised the virtues of Rama. Although Shiva, the wise one, is desireless, the Lord is nonetheless distressed by the pain of separation from his devotee.
