जनक सनेहु सीलु करतूती। नृपु सब भाँति सराह बिभूती॥ दिन उठि बिदा अवधपति मागा। राखहिं जनकु सहित अनुरागा॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

janaka sanehu śīlu kartūtī। nṛpu saba bhāṃti sarāha bibhūtī॥ dina uṭhi bidā avadhapati māgā। rākhahiṃ janaku sahita anurāgā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

King Dasharatha praised Janak's affection, character, conduct, and greatness in every way. Each day he would rise and ask for leave to depart, but Janak lovingly kept him there.
