हने निसान पनव बर बाजे। भेरि संख धुनि हय गय गाजे॥ झाँझि बिरव डिंडिमी सुहाई। सरस राग बाजहिं सहनाई॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

hane nisāna panava bara bāje। bheri saṅkha dhuni haya gaya gāje॥ jhāñjhi birava ḍiṇḍimī suhāī। sarasa rāga bājahiṃ sahanāī॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

The drums were struck and fine kettledrums sounded. The bheris and conches roared, and elephants and horses seemed to thunder. Cymbals, resonant little drums, and sweetly melodic shehnais were all playing together.
