दरस परस मज्जन अरु पाना। हरइ पाप कह बेद पुराना॥ नदी पुनीत अमित महिमा अति। कहि न सकइ सारदा बिमल मति॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

darasa parasa majjana aru pānā। harai pāpa kaha beda purānā॥ nadī punīta amita mahimā ati। kahi na sakai sāradā bimal mati॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

The Vedas and Puranas declare that the sight, touch, bathing, and drinking of the sacred Sarayu River remove sins. This river is exceedingly pure; its glory is limitless, and even Saraswati, with her stainless wisdom, cannot fully describe it.
