अधिक सनेहँ गोद बैठारी। स्याम सरोज नयन भरे बारी॥ जेहिं बिधि तुम्हहि रूपु अस दीन्हा। तेहिं जड़ बरु बाउर कस कीन्हा॥ ४ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
adhika sanehaṃ goda baiṭhārī। syāma saroja nayana bhare bārī॥ jehiṃ vidhi tumhahi rūpu asa dīnhā। tehiṃ jaḍa baru bāura kasa kīnhā॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
With great affection she seated her on her lap, tears filling her blue-lotus-like eyes, and said: 'By what method did the Creator give you such beauty, and how did that fool make your groom into a madman?'
