सुनि सुर बिनय ठाढ़ि पछिताती। भइउँ सरोज बिपिन हिमराती॥ देखि देव पुनि कहहिं निहोरी। मातु तोहि नहिं थोरिउ खोरी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
suni sura binaya ṭhāṛhi pachitātī। bhaiuṃ saroja bipina himarātī॥ dekhi deva puni kahahiṃ nihorī। mātu tohi nahiṃ thoriu khorī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Hearing the gods’ request, Saraswati stood there repenting: “Alas! I have become the frost-night for the lotus garden.” Seeing her repent thus, the gods again pleaded, “Mother, this will not bring you the least blame.”
