सुनत भरतु भए बिबस बिषादा। जनु सहमेउ करि केहरि नादा॥ तात तात हा तात पुकारी। परे भूमितल ब्याकुल भारी॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sunata bharatu bhaye bibasa biṣādā। janu sahameu kari kehari nādā॥ tāta tāta hā tāta pukārī। pare bhūmitala byākula bhārī॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

Hearing this, Bharata became helpless with grief. It was as though an elephant had been startled by a lion’s roar. Crying, “Father! Father! Alas, Father!” he fell to the ground in great anguish.
