श्रवन समीप भए सित केसा। मनहुँ जरठपनु अस उपदेसा॥ नृप जुबराजु राम कहुँ देहू। जीवन जनम लाहु किन लेहू॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

śravana samīpa bhae sita kesā। manahuṃ jaraṭhapanu asa upadesā॥ nṛpa jubarāju rāma kahuṃ dehū। jīvana janama lāhu kina lehū॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

[He saw] that the hair near his ears had turned white, as though old age itself were advising him: “O king, why not give Rama the crown prince’s seat and gain the true fruit of your life and birth?”
