राम सपथ सत कहउँ सुभाऊ। राममातु कछु कहेउ न काऊ॥ मैं सबु कीन्ह तोहि बिनु पूँछें। तेहि तें परेउ मनोरथु छूछें॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

rāma sapatha sata kahauṃ subhāū। rāmamātu kachu kaheu na kāū॥ maiṃ sabu kīnha tohi binu pūṃcheṃ। tehi teṃ pareu manorathu chūcheṃ॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

By Rama’s thousand oaths I say this of my own nature: Rama’s mother never said anything to me about this. I did it all without asking you. Therefore my wish has come to nothing.
