पूछें कोउ न ऊतरु देई। गए जेहिं भवन भूप कैकेई॥ कहि जयजीव बैठ सिरु नाई। देखि भूप गति गयउ सुखाई॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
pūcheṃ kou na ūtaru deī। gae jehiṃ bhavana bhūpa kaikeī॥ kahi jayajīva baiṭha sira nāī। dekhi bhūpa gati gayau sukhāī॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
No one gives any reply when asked. He went to the chamber where the king and Kaikeyi were. Saying, "Victory and long life," he bowed his head and sat down; and seeing the king’s condition, he was utterly stricken.
