नृप तनु बेद बिदित अन्हवावा। परम बिचित्र बिमानु बनावा॥ गहि पद भरत मातु सब राखी। रहीं रानि दरसन अभिलाषी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
nṛpa tanu beda bidita anhavāvā। parama bicitra bimānu banāvā॥ gahi pada bharata mātu saba rākhī। rahīṃ rāni darasana abhilāṣī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
According to the rite described in the Vedas, the king’s body was bathed, and a wondrous bier was prepared. Bharat held the feet of all the mothers, meaning he pleaded with them and stopped them from becoming sati. Those queens too remained, longing for the sight of Shri Ram.
