चंदन अगर भार बहु आए। अमित अनेक सुगंध सुहाए॥ सरजु तीर रचि चिता बनाई। जनु सुरपुर सोपान सुहाई॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

candana agara bhāra bahu āe। amita aneka sugaṃdha suhāe॥ saraju tīra raci citā banāī। janu surapura sopāna suhāī॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

Many loads of sandalwood and agarwood, along with countless other pleasant fragrances, were brought. A beautiful pyre was arranged on the bank of the Sarju, looking as though it were a lovely stairway to heaven.
