मातु कुमत बढ़ई अघ मूला। तेहिं हमार हित कीन्ह बँसूला॥ कलि कुकाठ कर कीन्ह कुजंत्रू। गाड़ि अवधि पढ़ि कठिन कुमंत्रू॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
mātu kumata baṛhaī agha mūlā। tehiṃ hamāra hita kīnha baṃsūlā॥ kali kukāṭha kara kīnha kujantrū। gāṛi avadhi paṛhi kaṭhina kumaṃtrū॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
Mother's evil counsel is the carpenter, the root of sins. He fashioned our welfare as an adze. With it he made the crooked machine of the Kali age into a bad piece of wood, and, after reciting the hard spell of the fourteen-year period, he planted that machine in the ground. [Here the mother's wrong thinking is the carpenter, Bharata's kingdom is the adze, Rama's exile is the contrivance, and the fourteen-year term is the spell.]
