खग मृग हय गय जाहिं न जोए। राम बियोग कुरोग बिगोए॥ नगर नारि नर निपट दुखारी। मनहुँ सबन्हि सब संपति हारी॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

khaga mṛga haya gaya jāhiṃ na joe। rāma biyoga kuroga bigoe॥ nagara nāri nara nipaṭa dukhārī। manahuṃ sabhani saba saṃpati hārī॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

Birds and beasts, horses and elephants, tormented by the dreadful disease of separation from Rama, seemed unbearable to behold. The men and women of the city were terribly sorrowful, as though everyone had lost all their wealth.

This is Chaupai 4, Under Doha 158 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Bharata and Shatrughna Arrive and Grieve”. The episode describes Bharata and Shatrughna returning to grief-stricken Ayodhya on learning of Dasharatha's death and Rama's exile.
