जिअन मरन फलु दसरथ पावा। अंड अनेक अमल जसु छावा॥ जिअत राम बिधु बदनु निहारा। राम बिरह करि मरनु सँवारा॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

jiana marana phalu dasaratha pāvā। aṃḍa aneka amala jasu chāvā॥ jiata rāma bidhu badanu nihārā। rāma biraha kari maranu saṃvārā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Dasharatha alone reaped the fruits of both living and dying; his pure fame spread through countless worlds. While alive he beheld Shri Rama's moonlike face, and by taking Rama's separation as the occasion, he perfected his death.
