जिऐ मीन बरु बारि बिहीना। मनि बिनु फनिकु जिऐ दुख दीना॥ कहउँ सुभाउ न छलु मन माहीं। जीवनु मोर राम बिनु नाहीं॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

jiai mīna baru bāri bihīnā। mani binu phaniku jiai dukha dīnā॥ kahauṃ subhāu na chalu mana māhīṃ। jīvanu mora rāma binu nāhīṃ॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

A fish may live without water, and a snake may live sorrowfully without its jewel; but I speak from my very nature, with no deceit in my heart: my life is not without Rama.
