ईति भीति जनु प्रजा दुखारी। त्रिबिध ताप पीड़ित ग्रह मारी॥ जाइ सुराज सुदेस सुखारी। होहिं भरत गति तेहि अनुहारी॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
īti bhīti janu prajā dukhārī। tribidha tāpa pīḍita graha mārī॥ jāi surāja sudesa sukhārī। hohiṁ bharata gati tehi anuhārī॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
Just as a suffering people, afflicted by fear, the three kinds of misery, adverse planets, and epidemics, becomes happy by going to a good land and a well-governed kingdom, so too is Bharata’s state now unfolding [‘īti’ refers to six kinds of crop-afflicting disasters such as excessive rain, drought, rats, locusts, parrots, and an enemy king’s invasion].
