गइ मुरुछा तब भूपति जागे। बोलि सुमंत्रु कहन अस लागे॥ रामु चले बन प्रान न जाहीं। केहि सुख लागि रहत तन माहीं॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
gai muruchā taba bhūpati jāge। boli sumaṃtru kahana asa lāge॥ rāmu cale bana prāna na jāhīṃ। kehi sukha lāgi rahata tana māhīṃ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
When the fainting spell passed, the king awoke and, calling Sumantra, began to say: 'Rama has gone to the forest, yet my life does not depart. For what joy do these breaths still remain in this body?'
Context
This is Chaupai 3, Under Doha 81 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
