बिधि न सकेउ सहि मोर दुलारा। नीच बीचु जननी मिस पारा॥ यहउ कहत मोहि आजु न सोभा। अपनीं समुझि साधु सुचि को भा॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bidhi na sakeu sahi mora dulārā। nīca bīcu jananī misa pārā॥ ehau kahata mohi āju na sobhā। apanīṃ samujhi sādhu suci ko bhā॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
But Providence could not bear my darling. Under the pretext of a lowly mother, it put a gap between us. Even this is not fitting for me to say today. For by one's own judgment, who has become truly saintly and pure? Only the one whom others regard as saintly is saintly.
