भयउ बिकल बरनत इतिहासा। राम रहित धिग जीवन आसा॥ सो तनु राखि करब मैं काहा। जेहिं न प्रेम पनु मोर निबाहा॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bhayau bikala baranata itihāsā। rāma rahita dhiga jīvana āsā॥ so tanu rākhi karaba maiṃ kāhā। jehiṃ na prema panu mora nibhāhā॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
As he narrated that history, the king became distraught and said, 'Cursed be the hope of living without Rama. What shall I do with this body, with which my vow of love has not been fulfilled?'
Context
This is Chaupai 3, Under Doha 155 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Dashrath's Last Words and His Death”. The episode describes Dasharatha's grief-stricken final words to Sumantra and his death from separation from Rama.
