भरत सरिस प्रिय को जग माहीं। इहइ सगुन फलु दूसर नाहीं॥ रामहि बंधु सोच दिन राती। अंडन्हि कमठ हृदउ जेहि भाँती॥ ४ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bharata sarisa priya ko jaga māhīṃ। ihai saguna phalu dūsara nāhīṃ॥ rāmahi baṃdhu soka dina rātī। aṃḍanhi kamaṭha hṛdau jehi bhāṃtī॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
And who in the world is dearer than Bharata? This, indeed, is the fruit of the omen, and no other. Rama thinks of his brother Bharata day and night with the same constant concern that a tortoise has for its eggs.
Context
This is Chaupai 4, Under Doha 7 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Coronation Preparations, Gods Pray to Saraswati”. The episode describes Ayodhya's coronation preparations and the anxious gods pleading Saraswati to bring about Rama's exile.
