भरत बचन सब कहँ प्रिय लागे। राम सनेह सुधाँ जनु पागे॥ लोग बियोग बिषम बिष दागे। मंत्र सबीज सुनत जनु जागे॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bharata bacana saba kahaṃ priya lāgē। rāma saneha sudhāṃ janu pāgē॥ loga biyoga biṣama biṣa dāgē। maṃtra sabīja sunata janu jāgē॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Bharat's words were dear to everyone, as though steeped in the nectar of Rama's love. The people, scorched by the terrible poison of separation from Rama, seemed to awaken as soon as they heard the mantra with seed (the living mantra).
Context
This is Chaupai 1, Under Doha 184 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Vashishtha Counsels Bharata, Journey Planned”. The episode describes Vashishtha counseling Bharata on dharma and preparations to journey to Chitrakoot to bring Rama back.
