रचि महेस निज मानस राखा। पाइ सुसमउ सिवा सन भाषा॥ तातें रामचरितमानस बर। धरेउ नाम हियँ हेरि हरषि हर॥ ६ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

rachi mahesa nija mānasa rākhā। pāi susamau sivā sana bhāṣā॥ tātẽ rāmacaritamānasa bara। dhareu nāma hiyaṃ heri haraṣi hara॥ 6 ॥

Meaning

Shri Mahadev created it and kept it within his own mind, and, finding a favorable moment, spoke of it to Parvati. Therefore, seeing it in his heart and rejoicing, Shiva gave it the beautiful name 'Ramcharitmanas.'
