Meaning
Let the noble ones not take this as mere boldness or poetic fancy on my part. I am speaking from the conviction, love, and taste of my own mind. Knowledge of both the निर्गुण and सगुण Brahma is like fire: निर्गुण is like fire hidden within wood, unseen; सगुण is like the fire that has become manifest and visible. In truth the two are one; only by the distinction of manifest and unmanifest do they seem different. In the same way, निर्गुण and सगुण are one in essence. Even so, both are difficult to know, but through the Name both become easy. Therefore I have said the Name is greater than the निर्गुण Brahma and the सगुण Rama. Brahma is all-pervading, one, imperishable, and a mass of being, consciousness, and bliss.
