नित नूतन मंगल पुर माहीं। निमिष सरिस दिन जामिनि जाहीं॥ बड़े भोर भूपतिमनि जागे। जाचक गुन गन गावन लागे॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

nita nūtana maṃgala pura māhīṃ। nimiṣa sarisa dina jāmini jāhīṃ॥ baḍe bhora bhūpatimani jāge। jācaka guna gana gāvana lāge॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

In Janakpur, new auspiciousness arose every day. Day and night passed like a blink of the eye. At dawn, the jewel among kings, Dasharatha, awoke, and the bards and supplicants began singing the praise of his virtues.
