जनमु सिंधु पुनि बंधु बिषु दिन मलीन सकलंक। सिय मुख समता पाव किमि चंदु बापुरो रंक॥ २३७ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
janamu sindhu puni bandhu biṣu dina malīna sakalaṃka। siya mukha samatā pāva kimi candu bāpuro raṃka॥ 237 ॥
Meaning
Its birth is in the salty sea; then, being born of that same sea, poison is its brother. By day it is dim and unlovely, and it is blemished as well. How could that poor, wretched moon ever बराबर Sita’s face?
