छुअत टूट रघुपतिहु न दोसू। मुनि बिनु काज करिअ कत रोसू॥ बोले चितइ परसु की ओरा। रे सठ सुनेहि सुभाउ न मोरा॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

chuata tūṭa raghupatihu na dosū। muni binu kāja kariya kata rosū॥ bole chitai para su kī orā। re saṭha sunehi subhāu na morā॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

It broke as soon as it was touched; even Raghunathji is not at fault. Sage, why do you rage without cause? Looking toward his axe, he said, “O wretch, you have not heard my nature.”
