ब्रह्मसभाँ हम सन दुखु माना। तेहि तें अजहुँ करहिं अपमाना॥ जौं बिनु बोलें जाहु भवानी। रहइ न सीलु सनेहु न कानी॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

brahmasabhāṃ hama sana dukhu mānā। tehiṃ tē ajahuṃ karahiṃ apamānā॥ joṃ binu boleṃ jāhu bhavānī। rahai na sīlu sanehu na kānī॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

Once, in Brahma's assembly, they took offense at me, and because of that they still insult me. O Bhavani, if you go without being invited, then neither dignity nor affection, nor proper decorum, will remain.

Context

This is Chaupai 2, Under Doha 62 from Bal Kand, in the episode “Shiva Renounces Sati”. The episode describes Shiva inwardly renouncing Sati and entering deep, unworldly samadhi.
