बिहसे अपर भूप सुनि बानी। जे अबिबेक अंध अभिमानी॥ तोरेहुँ धनुषु ब्याहु अवगाहा। बिनु तोरें को कुअँरि बिआहा॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bihase apara bhūpa suni bānī। je abibeka aṃdha abhimānī॥ torehuṃ dhanuṣu byāhu avagāhā। binu toreṃ ko kũãri biāhā॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
The other kings, blinded by folly and pride, laughed on hearing this. They said, even if the bow is broken, the marriage will still be difficult; without breaking it, who could possibly marry the princess?
Context
This is Chaupai 3, Under Doha 245 from Bal Kand, in the episode “Vishvamitra Enters the Assembly”. The episode describes Vishvamitra entering the great assembly with Rama and Lakshmana, each beholder seeing the princes according to their own devotion.
