बंधु सखा सँग लेहिं बोलाई। बन मृगया नित खेलहिं जाई॥ पावन मृग मारहिं जियँ जानी। दिन प्रति नृपहि देखावहिं आनी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bandhu sakhā saṅga lehīṃ bolāī। bana mṛgayā nita khelahiṃ jāī॥ pāvana mṛga mārahiṃ jiyaṃ jānī। dina prati nṛpahi dekhāvahiṃ ānī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Gathering His brothers and friends, Rama takes them along and goes into the forest each day for hunting. Thinking the deer to be pure, He kills them and brings them daily to show the king.
