परेउ राउ कहि कोटि बिधि काहे करसि निदानु। कपट सयानि न कहति कछु जागति मनहुँ मसानु॥ ३६ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

pareu rāu kahi koṭi bidhi kāhe karasi nidānu। kapaṭa sayāni na kahati kachhu jāgati manahuṃ masānu॥ 36 ॥

Meaning

The king, having tried countless ways to persuade her and asking why she was bringing destruction upon herself, fell to the ground. But the crafty Kaikeyi said nothing, as though she were silently awakening a cremation ground.
