Meaning
His eyes are full of tears and his sight has grown dim. He cannot hear properly, and his bewildered mind is losing steadiness. His lips are drying up, as though a stick has been placed in his mouth. Yet the life does not depart, because the door-like bars of hope remain in the heart: that after the fourteen years, the Lord will return.
