जे महिसुर दसरथ पुर बासी। जे मिथिलापति नगर निवासी॥ हंस बंस गुर जनक पुरोधा। जिन्ह जग मगु परमारथु सोधा॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
je mahisura dasaratha pura bāsī। je mithilāpati nagara nivāsī॥ haṃsa baṃsa guru janaka purodhā। jinha jaga magu paramārathu sodhā॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
There were the Brahmins residing in Dasharatha’s city, Ayodhya, and those living in the city of Mithila under King Janaka. There were also Vasistha, the guru of the Hansa line, and Shatananda, Janaka’s family priest, who had thoroughly examined the path of worldly welfare and the path of the supreme spiritual good.
