जाइ दीख रघुबंसमनि नरपति निपट कुसाजु॥ सहमि परेउ लखि सिंघिनिहि मनहुँ बृद्ध गजराजु॥ ३९ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

jāi dīkh raghubaṃsamani narapati nipaṭa kusāju॥ sahami pareu lakhi siṃghinihi mānahuṃ vṛddha gajarāju॥ 39 ॥

Meaning

Rama, jewel of the Raghu dynasty, went and saw that the king was in a most dreadful condition, as if an old elephant-king had fallen in fear upon seeing a lioness.
