बरष चारिदस बासु बन मुनि ब्रत बेषु अहारु। ग्राम बासु नहिं उचित सुनि गुहहि भयउ दुखु भारु॥ ८८ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

baraṣa cāridasa bāsu bana muni vrata beshu ahāru। grāma bāsu nahiṃ ucita suni guhahi bhayau dukhu bhāru॥ 88 ॥

Meaning

By His command, I must dwell in the forest for fourteen years, living with the vows and dress of a sage and taking only food suitable for ascetics; living in a village is not proper. Hearing this, Guha was greatly distressed.
